Kotoku Royals suffer disappointing defeat away to Tamale City

Kotoku Royals failed to hold on to a winning momentum having suffered a disappointing defeat to Tamale City at the Aliu Mahama Satdium in Tamale.

The Royals lost 3-0 in a game played on Saturday afternoon in a week 16 fixture of the Betpawa Premier League.

The Royals were expected to keep their momentum following a 3-2 win over Bibiani Gold Stars at home in their last home game.

City striker Sampson Eduku opened the scoring in the 29th minute.
Matthew Agama then doubled the lead on the stroke of halftime.

Royals’ gaffer John Eduafo Jnr meanwhile made some changes in attack after recess in the hope of salvaging something for his side.

However, it was the Citizens who dished out an entertaining match-winning second half display.
Justice Mensah made it 3-0 on the 70 minute mark to send the game beyond redemption for the Royals.

The result leaves Kotoku lurking at the eighteenth spot with 10 points.
